VLOG POST: One of the best weekends I’ve had in a very long time.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. For me, this holiday gathering was more meaningful than most. It’s one thing to come into a family of in-laws that love you and welcome you with wide open arms. It’s another to see them welcome your whole family just the same.

Over the years our two families have spent a little time together here and there – mostly on game days. AJ’s two sisters, myself, and Leah actually had an incredibly FUN girls trip to NYC last New Years (well… girls + AJ). And his parents have invited mine to visit once or twice before, but the plans fell through. It’s hard to get everyone in one place when one side lives in North Carolina, one in Georgia, my sister in Florida, and we live in Massachusetts.

It wasn’t until wedding weekend that all our people came together and got a little more familiar with each other. It’s hard not to get comfortable after a couple hours of karaoke + wine… am I right? So when AJ and I made plans to spend the fourth of July in GA this year, Mrs. Howard extended the invite out to my family as well.

My dad, brother, and sister Leah all made the trip down and we had the best time! There is nothing better than being around family, playing cards, eating endless food, and even a little line dancing this time (don’t worry, I got footage!).

God has truly blessed us with family. There are so many people out there who will never know the security, the friendship, the encouragement, the unconditional love of family. Yet AJ and I get to experience these things with not one, but TWO strong units in our lives. I wake up more grateful each day, because how could I not?!

So here’s my vlog of this incredibly fulfilling weekend. I hope you’ll watch and turn right back around to call or hug your loved ones! Life moves so fast and these weekends don’t come nearly as often as I’d like them to. But these people are our best friends. So we count our blessings, and we always have our next gathering planned.

I’ll see all you crazy people in Nashville next month, where there are plenty more memories to be made ~
